A great deal of research was undertaken to build a case for saving the Victoria Hotel from demolition and the Victoria Hotel Community Association recognises the invaluable contributions from amounderness.co.uk for the use of images and information, The Victorian Society and the Lytham St. Annes Civic Society for their continued support and advice.
There is a great deal to understand about planning laws and procedures for objecting to planning decisions and the VHCA is deeply indebted to our local ward councillor Cllr. Ed Nash who advised and investigated on behalf of the VHCA so that the correct procedures were followed, relevant people contacted and informed and that the correct paperwork was in place.
It was very important that the Planning Inspectorate recieved letters of objection from the local community and that these letters followed a certain format so that they would be accepted. The VHCA committee drafted examples, supplied templates and assisted and cajoled people to send their own letters. Examples of the templates can be downloaded here.
